Thanks. I will use ssh in the future. But I just need telent now to verify
the backup works. I see /etc/securetty/ contains tty1 to tty6. When I do a
ps aux, I see JohnDoe is telnet in using pts/1. How do enabled root tlent
for now? Added pts/1 to /etc/securetty? I will try...

Regads,
Norman

Hi Norman, my advice, from a not so expert linux user
is, DO NOT use telnet, it's very insecure for sending
info. Just work with ssh, it's a lot better. I've been
working on ssh from my work to my home, and it was no
trouble. If you want to install ssh, go to the
http://www.mandrakeuser.org
It has a nice tutorial about installing ssh.
That should be all, SALUDOS
Gonzalo
