The logrotate command expects to be passed a config file not
a log file (as in your example). The config file will contain
the name of various files and some rules about rotating it.
In my /etc/cron.daily/logrotate file, the actual command
that gets run is /usr/sbin/logrotate /etc/logrotate.conf
See man logrotate for more info.
