Another way is to look at the command to execute to recreate the links with:

rpm -q --scripts cups-common | grep 'update-alternatives --install'


(assuming that you are using cups)

I'm still wondering why the postinstall script left the links dangling in the first place, considering that the commands there work fine when issued manually.
