Are you actually using NFS? Do you have remote filesystems mounted at /net? I use NFS between two machines connected via a cross-over cable and sometimes I get an error which I think is the same as yours. I haven't looked into it in much detail but I think it happens in the following scenario. Machine A boots first. Machine B boots up after A has stopped checking for the remote filesystems. B's NFS shares are manually mounted on A. Machine B is powered down. Machine A is powered down -> Unmount NFS error -> HANG. Don't know if any of this is relevant in your case of course. Paul.
