the default 9.0 kernel comes with a very old version of ACPI -- you
should either go from vanilla (which broke USB in my case) or download a
cooker kernel with newer ACPI. I've had ok luck with 2.4.19-19,
currently on 2.4.20-2 and not happy with it.
