Praedor, Not doubting you findings one iota, the irony here is that for me and my hardware the opposite is true. I love the 9.0 kernel over the 8.2 because of it's support for the i810 and i830 chipsets along with other hardware I have. Under 8.2 no dma no vga support (of any quality etc.) BUT with the 9.0 kernel... these boxes are rock solid... as far as wlan goes. My prism II card works the same.
