Guys, I'm having a problem with games ever since I upgraded. I can't play
several games (such as Tribes 2, UT2003_demo, etc, etc) without getting a
segfault error so far into the game.

I have what should be very good hardware for a games system:

AMD XP2200
512 megs DDR Ram
60 gig IBM Deskstar HD
6 channel sound (Soyo Dragon Plus MB)
Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4200 (64 megs)

Here is the output from UT2003:

Backtrace:
[ 1] /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0 [0x40d6fe55]
Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault]
Aborting.

I found that this file comes from:

[root@darkforce darklord]# rpm -q --whatprovides libpthread.so.0
glibc-2.2.5-16mdk
glibc_lsb-2.2.90-11mdk

None of these games did this with v8.2 of Mandrake - only since I installed
(fresh) the 9.0 Powerpack. I was using different (lesser) hardware with 8.2
though.

Anyone have any ideas? This kind of topic seemed a bit much for the newbie
list so I posted it here...

Thanks.
