Simon, Great news! I'd like to take full credit, but I only solved it thanks to Richard (Linux-Phased), the Mandrake Soft expert who went beyond the call of duty for three weeks helping me get it working. He sent me the sensors-detect version that worked. I too, have not been able to get the system fan to show up, but don't care too much, as I can see the cpu temps and fan speed, and the voltages.
I still don't know why sensors-detect didn't list those modules for you. It's a real mystery. Anyway, glad I could be of some help.
