Hallo!

I've got 2 computers, 1 PC with a RW and a DVD reader, and a laptop with a
DVD-RW combo.

In all 3 atapi units have something common: ripping and recording audio CDs
take 100% cpu and make the system almost unusable. This only happens with
audio CDs (recording on the fly from the DVD to the RW uses 0-10% cpu if it's
a data CD).

I don't know where to have a look. As I've mentioned, burning data CDs don't
use only 0-10% cpu and the system responds quick. I've booted XP and this
problem doesn't appear there (I use XP to play games).

Thanks in advance :)

Note: under Mandrake 9 with dma on. I'm sending together with this email the
output of both dmesg' commands.
