I tried the ATI binary drivers , the latest incarnation which is said to work with PBA cards... it compiles fine ( what a mess ATI did though.. if it's RPM why don't they just offer the drivers pre-compilde for all the major distros? too lazy for testing anything but RHs?) But even then the drivers fail if GLX extensions are enabled, the X-server just crash. It runs fine without GLX - but then , no games, no 3D stuff...
Any thoughts? has someone with a Sapphire card - or other PBA card - managed to get 3D accleration working in MDK9? I heard people with Slackware had no problems. I think the problem may be in MDK's kernel or the Xfree version - ATI seems to have tested their driver in X 4.2.0 only.
TIA
Wooky
