<laughing brutally> Yes, I recognize that tune. Try a Sanyo-Toshiba low-speed
drive and any Maxtor high-speed drive on the same IDE channel. They simply 
won't
work, even if you call Maxtor and order one of their service & support books,
which they don't even sell anymore, anyway. <shrug>
