I had this happen when switching to the real kdm instead of the mdk one and the above was what I had to do. Question is there anything in /var/log/messages or dmesg to give a clue? Does top indicate any zombie processes? Also if you run runlevel at the command prompt do you get something like 5 3 or N 5 James > > Thanks, > Damon
