Can you grab mailman -3mdk from cooker and rebuild it and give it a try? You might even be able to use the binary, although I'm not sure. IIRC, I did some fixes to clean that up, but I don't really use mailman, or even particularly like it, so I didn't do anything more than grep for my name in the pyc files.
