In kmail I set a filter on message contains <html> or <html> - nothing got filtered, so I changed it to body contains <html>. or <html>, which works. However, it also traps some that are sent in both formats. Since these display correctly for me I would rather not filter them. Is there any way round this?

there are other clients that can do what you want.
