Have you looked in /etc/fstab to see what its entry (if any) is? Mine looks
like this:

/dev/sda4 /mnt/zip auto user,noauto 0 0

Thats pretty minimalist though - I use it because it will recognise both DOS
and Linux formatted Zip carts. Most of the time you would see something like
this:

/mnt/zip /mnt/zip supermount
dev=/dev/sda4,fs=vfat,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,sync,codepage=850 0 0

Note this entry has supermount enabled while the first one does not (I never
can seem to get along with it - YMMV).

As root, do a "cdrecord --scanbus" and your Zip drive should show up as:

scsibus1:
        1,0,0 100) *
        1,1,0 101) 'IOMEGA ' 'ZIP 100 ' '14.A' Removable Disk
        1,2,0 102) *
        1,3,0 103) *
        1,4,0 104) *
        1,5,0 105) *
        1,6,0 106) *
        1,7,0 107) *

I trimmed that output a bit, but you can get the idea here.

HTHs!
