When you told me to add the new windows stanza, I saved the old file as lilo.conf.March 'just in case'. I then added the stanza to lilo.conf. As I said, it worked. Examining lilo.conf afterwards, I found that the odd mapping lines had disappeared, and I then seemed to have WindowsOriginal stanza and Windows2 stanza identically set up. I then deleted WindowsOriginal, and renamed Windows2 to Windows98. To my surprise, when I get the lilo menu I still see WindowsOriginal and Windows2. I have no idea where it's reading these from.
