just wanted to ask fi someone is experiencing the same type of problem as I have.
I installed the Cooker-Kernel, kernel-source-2.4.21-0.13mdk, recompiled the kernel using Athlon optimization, and can't boot into the system.
The Boot-Process hangs after updating the module-dependencies - exactly the point where mounting the partitions should occur.
I can't provide a dmesg-output as I'm not able to boot into the system - also the Mandrake-9.1RC2 boot from ISO-CD will stop at the exact same location - when mounting the harddrives...
I inserted the actual 2.4.19-24sec DMESG output so you folks can have a look at it. (Always compile my own kernel).
It is not essential for me to have this kernel-version - but I wanted to check some of the new drivers - as the hardware I have is quite new and not used in "tuned" mode - as defaults apply.
Note - it's not the DMA stuff - as the System does recognise the UDMA33 from BIOS at boot if I enable it. When Disabled - it goes into PIO mode but it hangs at the same location - e.g. mounting harddrives.
Regarding the Hardware - I have a Asus A7N8X Delux board, 512MBytes Ram (2x256), 1x40GB, 1x30Gb, 1DVD-Rom, 1xCD-RW. I use as much as possible the onboard components of the System.
