Oh man! Thanks so much for reminding me! I had forgotten about this. man did 
that make a HUGE difference in performance!! 

Now why is my samba so darned slow? Since I've been at 9.x it has really been 
bad. Has mandrake maybe done some "detuning" by default for stability?
