I've been struggling with Texstar's 3.1.2 for a week, and have really messed up my main box- probably my own fault, but as yet I've not figured it out, and nothing I've learned at pclinuxonline has worked so far. Tex seems to think he has a fix for the kdebase and kdm config file that seems to be messing me up. If you want to check out my posts that explain my case in depth (and others) about this subject, mine are under wrc1944 in the latest 3.1.2 thread at pclinuxonline forums.

In my case, it's been a disaster, but some people seem to have very few problems.

Not to doubt for one second your trouble... but for me... it went in
flawlessly on two boxes. I did go through 3.1.1 first before 3.1.2
btw. Maybe that helped don't know. I also use gdm not kdm. (I like the
themes....*grin*) One thing I've noticed is that 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 start a
lot faster than 3.1 did. (and it was a speed up from 3.0)

I see what you're all doing here and I'm not falling for it. 3.1 runs just fine for me on my Dell, and no matter how much you all tempt me I'm not going for it. _That_ can wait until 9.2 comes out. And I am speaking hopfully on that issue because I REALLY want to purchase a club membership and I REALLY want to be able to purchase my very own copy of the powerpack.
