Recently my mplayer installation began acting strangely. It starts in fullscreen mode no matter what settings I give it and the control interface opens only on desktop 2. The control interface only displays partially and is unusable.

Latest video drivers for geforce3 from nVidia's site
It has been working fine and I have not made any changes that I can remember. All my other apps seem to be OK
Any idea as to where to look for the problem?
