Unless I have this wrong, your tmp directory is just that, temporary, and 
anything that is placed there will be vanished by the system, over time. 
That's why anything important and to be kept is never placed in that 
directory. But anything that can be removed can be placed there because the 
system will remove it for you. Auto waste disposal sort of thing.
