ext3 is the same filesystem as ext2, only with a journaling mode. If ext3 goes mad on you, mount it as ext2 and it will work just fine. There are commands to fix the journaling-files too. So IMHO ext3 is just preferable above ext2. If I'm wrong, correct me please :-) Steven
