Thanks for the reply, Jack.

This is in my son's computer (I am trying to indoctrinate him into linux while he
is at school). The machine came with a 4M S3 Trio 3D on the motherboard, so
I added a Voodoo 2 3D accellerator (bought on ebay). It works in Windows,
but I haven't been able to get Linux (mdk 9.0 and 9.1) to use it. I don't know if
the Voodoo3 is the same, but this card daisy-chains off of the main graphics
output and only handles the 3D stuff.

My problem may be related to the fact that I haven't been able to get XFree86
version 4 to properly handle the S3 Trio, and have to use 3.3.

what's it doing wrong? Haven't tried a 2, but my Voodoo3 is auto-setup
with no issues.
