I've never run a windows emulator before and I wanted to see if I could get some Blizzard (StarCraft, WarCraft etc...) games to run under Mandrake 9.1
What I discovered is that 9.1 comes with only 1 emulator (that I've found so far) and it is a freakin Alpha. We were not amused.
So. What is the best way to do this?
Even though wine is considered "alpha", it is quite functional. I use it to run the Lotus Notes client, and it works great.
For games, though, you will want to get Transgaming's version of wine, called WineX (because it added DirectX and other functional support for games). You can get the source to WineX for free, or pay a minimal subscription fee (as little as $15 for three months, last time I checked) and download an rpm file. It comes with a decent GUI config utility, which also allows you to easily install and uninstall your Windows programs.
