There's almost nothing to it. It's one of the more "turn-key' apps I've ever seen. Just a couple mandatory configs in /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf and the RPM for mdk (9.0 at least) does not set up the correct runlevels for it so you have to do '$chkconfig --level 2345 apcupsd on'. I've yet to figure out how to get it to signal the computer back on but it does a clean shut down with times system messages. Will document it shortly... :-)
