fsck won't save my /boot partition: bad superblock.

At this point, i think i should fdisk hda6 and copy the /boot from knoppix
over to it. Then go back and install whatever kernel rpm i feel like.

Does this make sense?

Or should i let the install cd format that section, and do a mini install?

Thanks for any advice,
eric
I'd like some advice on this one:

My /boot partition is bad. Bad superblock, can't fsck it from knoppix.

At this point, i think i should fdisk hda6 and copy the /boot from knoppix
over to it.

Does this make sense?

Or should i let the install cd format that section, and do a mini install?

Right now, /boot has (had) it's own partition: was hda5, now hda6 after
resizing an ntfs partition.

Should i keep it in it's own partition?

Right now any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated,

I am running ML 9.1.

Thanks in advance,
eric

Previously i posted to newbie. Don't know if any of the following is useful:
