I presume that you have a fat32 partition because you have W$ on the machine. So, the short answer would be scandisk or chkdsk under W$, there being no fsck.vfat AFAIK. If you don't have W$, then I can only guess that using fat32 is a result of severe personality problems and refuse to talk to you any more ;-) Brian
