I forgot to mention- IIRC, Texstar said that he had to install Ranger's samba version (solved the smb errors for him). I've gotten my errors and deps down to a final smb error, but haven't had time to try this solution in my effort to rebuild Tex's kde 3.1.2 srpms for athlon-xp. I assume he means that that's what he did to complete his current kde set for i586, which works great on my boxes. I also assume that would work with a different --target for the rebuilding.
