Very possible, I see there is a directory under /usr/X11R6 for mandrakefont (or some such), may have a look in there and see what I see. On the other hand, Slacware and Knoppix will show the correct font until the Xserver is restarted then the fonts get tiny again, sometimes running fc-cache will make it show the fonts correctly again, might be a clue..
