Without having a definition of "REALLY screwed up" I can tell you this. Threading in kmail is done based on some ID in the header - forget which. This ID has been in the mail RFC's since dinosaurs roamed the earth. Many proprietary mailers have a callous disregard for standards and don't put the message ID in the header. Even worse, some put their own ID in the header. Lotus Notes and Outlook are 2 of the worst offenders that jump to mind. So, instead of doing things the "right" way, mailers are forced to have a kludgy threading by subject. Kmail does not at this time thread by subject. It has been "fixed" in the latest dev branches but is not scheduled until KDE3.2 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57350 On a partially related subject - complaints about kmail should be sent to http://bugs.kde.org/ -Mark -- Mark Belanger LTX Corporation
