In SMTP Auth mode - I'm not able to authenticate using some of the doc. pages as http://postfix.state-of-mind.de/patrick.koetter/smtpauth/index.html
Also - does anyone knows why there are 2 library sets installed ? for sasl: [EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# rpm -qa | grep sasl libsasl2-2.1.12-1mdk cyrus-sasl-2.1.12-1mdk libsasl7-plug-plain-1.5.28-5mdk libsasl2-plug-plain-2.1.12-1mdk libsasl7-1.5.28-5mdk
That's because almost all the software in mandrake 9.1 uses sasl v1 (libsasl7), while cyrus-imapd needs sasl v2 (libsasl2). IIRC the saslauthd that came in the 9.1 package is from the v2 library, and it's incompatible with v1 (used by postfix), so you cannot use saslauthd. You can either try another authentication method (sasl v1 can use pam directly *but* if you're using /etc/shadow postfix won't be able to read the file due to insufficent permission) or try use pwcheck, i.e in /usr/lib/sasl/smtpd.conf you can put
pwcheck_method:pam
or
pwcheck_method:pwcheck
Don't forget to start the pwcheck daemon in the latter case and to configure /etc/pam.d/smtp in the former.
Bye
