For years I have been a happy user of the Windows-based Papermaster98
software. All my important documents for the past five years or so are
stored in Papermaster cabinets.

Now that I am trying to move as much as possible of my life over to
Mandrake, I am looking for a serious contender for a replacement,
preferably open source, but I would consider a proprietary solution, as
long as the format is documented or easily converted to something that is
documented (in the event that the company stops supporting the product).
This is one of the important areas of my life where I'm actually willing to
spend real money to solve this problem :-)

For those who don't know, Papermaster was a particularly good
implementation of a digital filing cabinet (I looked at some competitors
over the years, but they all seemed quite clumsy by comparison, and were
all WIndows-based). I have spent quite a bit of time looking for Linux
implementations of something similar, but haven't been able to find
anything even close.

Does anyone here have any suggestions as to software I should look at? It's
quite feasible that there's already something either on the LM CDs or
available via the club, but the searching that I did came up empty.

  Doc Evans
