I assume that these are the settings that the client has once it has been set
up by the DHCP server.

This shows that the client is expecting the Linux box to answer DNS queries
for it. (A DNS cache) Is that working?

dnscache from DJB is a great program for that. The 'caching nameserver' option
of Mandrake 9.1 might work okay also.

Or you can configure the DHCP service on your Linux box to tell your clients
to pull DNS from your ISP or some other server, and not from itself.
(probably the quickest solution. Running a local dns cache is the best in the
longer term)

Go to a client box and try to ping something by name, and then again by IP
address. If it can't find something by name (www.google.com) but it can by IP
(216.239.51.99) then DNS is your problem.

If it can't ping either one, you have deeper problems yet....
