This is strictly a shot in the dark, but you might try reinstalling the proprietary NVIDIA drivers (if you have them installed). I've seen that behavior myself in the past and eventually traced it to having installed a Mesa rpm (libMesaGL1, IIRC) after installing the drivers. The rpm was adding back OpenGL .so files that NVIDIA's install routine had moved out of way to avoid conflicts. HTH, Arn
