I have been struggling with GnomeMeeting for some time now, getting all the help I can from this list, then from the GM mailing list. The end of that conversation was that devsd was the likely problem, and I would need to talk to someone who really understands Mandrake's implementation of it.
A friend of mine has been having a similar fight with his Handspring Visor. Again, he has asked all he can for help. It appears that this is also a devfsd problem. Apparently some aspects of using Gnome-pilot on 9.1 were not properly implemented, as it was 'very difficult'. It seems that they believe that 9.2 rc2 is the answer. When my friend said that he could not consider moving his working machine to 9.2 rc2, the reply was 'Too bad for you then..' I have been very disheartened at my own struggles. The GM posters were very helpful about all their own settings, which I have faithfully matched. It seems likely, then, that they are right, and it is a Mandrake-specific problem. There is one person who answered me that is running 9.1, but he was unable to tell me what might be affecting my system to make it unable to function correctly with the recommended settings. To hear 'Too bad for you then..' coming from a Mandrake employee is just the pits..... Anne -- Registered Linux User No.293302 Have you visited http://twiki.mdklinuxfaq.org yet?
