You want to create a startup script on the server in ~/.vnc called
"xstartup", and make it executable.

mine looks like this:

#!/bin/sh

# Mandrake Linux VNC session startup script
Esetroot -b darkblue &
exec ~/cvs/pekwm/src/pekwm

for IceWM, use whatever path and executable is appropriate.
