Thanks for the quick response ... I think you are right about the hotplug, but 
I am not sure where to "remove all mention of their being a" <my_old_card>. 
Can you point me some places? I will start grep-ing all over right now, but 
if you would be kind enough to point to the stored info of such it would be 
much appreciated.
