This is I'm told not a problem in xpdf but a problem in the document itself. PDF's have a color "table" included and the color e6e7e6 isn't in that table but is being used by the document. So it's not defined. IMHO this comes from the fact that PDF precedes HTML and the standardized color definitions we use now.
