As for the monitor, it is OK (NEC 17" 1760-or-something with 18ms pixel refresh). I had thought I would hold out until the organic displays came available, thinking that it would be this year or next but it appears it will be a couple years at least before they are widely available and then the prices will be likely be monstrous for a while. The NEC handles games OK but the backlighting vs emission of a monitor does leave something to be desired in dark game situations.
