I know, I know, replying to myself, but it might help some other lost soul! ;-) Solved my Digital DJ situation by changing the player in the config from ogg123 to alsaplayer. Removed the aslaplayer gui and it works great! Turns out to be ogg123 not playing with alsa, and not Digital DJ.
