Yes, that is exactly the problem I had. There are a couple of things you can
do. Try this first:
export TMPDIR=/home/yourdirectory/tmp
Or anywhere that you have lots of room.
I actually wound up putting something similiar in my /root/.bash_profile file:
export TEMP=/usr/.temporary
export TMP=/usr/.temporary
export TMPDIR=/usr/.temporary
Then from a shell I reran "bash" under my root account (otherwise you'll have
to reboot to reflect the changes).
This seemed to do the trick - at least the last few big files I've installed
has given no problems. Just make sure that you pick a location that has lots
of room.
