The camera is a SiPix StyleCam Deluxe. It's listed but when it starts to connect the lockup accrues.

There is a kernel bug when auto-loading the snd-usb-audio module. Solution
Use ThomasBacklund

kernel (packages beginning by "kernel-tmb" in contrib) until
an update kernel might contain the fix as well.
Looks like it's a known problem. Guess i"ll wait until it's fixed in the next kernel release.
