Check the order that the "pcmcia" and "network" services are started (by
looking at the SXXpcmcia and SYYnetwork links in the /etc/rc5.d/ dir, if
we can assume that you boot to run level 5). If XX > YY, then the system
is trying to bring up the network before the pcmcia devices have been
initialized. If this is what's going on, rename one of the links so that
YY is a higher number than XX.
