The funny thing is, I have no idea how it knew to name the machine node1, unless it got that from my DHCP server, but I don't think that hands out hostnames (?). Right after install, it booted up with "node1", just like it was before, and this was a *clean* install, I mean total wipeout, man. Thanks for replyin', man, maybe it's my ISP, I'm even having trouble loading web pages, even though my router shows me connected, and I can connect to my other box no prob. Well, I wanted a challenge... ;-)--
