Ya había enviado un email sobre este seminario. Espero no pase desapercibido ya
que tiene algunas características interesantes:
1) Es realizado en America Latina y pretende reunir trabajos, inquitudes,
investogaciones y artistas de la región.
2) No es un encuentro de ingenieria o computación, es sobre música y los temas
de trabajo están orientados a composición y musicologia.
3) Los invitados internacionales son: Simon Emmerson, Nicholas Collins, Julio
D'escriván.
4) Se puede escribir en español, y si el texto es aceptado será publicado en
los procedings. Como la institucion que organiza es la USP estos procedings
circularán por todo el BRasil.
Es una oportunidad de papayita para tener una publicación internacional
especializada debajo del brazo- anímense

Extended Deadline: IV Seminar - Music Science Technology: Frontiers and Ruptures
The Organizing Committee of the IV Seminar - Music Science Technology:
Frontiers and Ruptures has extended the abstract submission deadline to April
9, 2012. The
Seminar will be held from 2th to 4th of July 2012 at the Music
Department of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The seminar is proposed as an opportunity to discuss the
relationship between music, science and technology, regarding not only
its technical aspects, but also their aesthetic, creative
and sociocultural relations. Papers should preferably, but
not exclusively, be directed to the following topics:
• a.) technological mediation and its implications for listening and composition
• b.) experimental art processes
• c.) the notion of liveness
• d.) interactive musical systems
• e.) improvisation and experimentation in music
• f.) the use of technological tools and the socialization of music creation
• g.) aesthetic and political aspects of contemporary music creation
• h.) the expansion of means and spaces for music production
• i.) analytical and critical perspectives on the music production mediated by
technologies
• j.) ubiquitous music and music made on digital networks
• k.) questions related to musical acoustics and sound perception
Important Dates
Extended deadline for submission: April 9, 2012
Notification of acceptance: May 8, 2012
Full paper submission: June 2, 2012
Proposals may be written in Portuguese, English and Spanish and should
not exceed 7000 characters (about 1000 words).
Full papers will be published in the Seminar's Proceedings.
Instructions for formatting the final draft will be released shortly.
