Hi Frederic, Converting IPTC comments to F-Spot tags is not considered for the moment in the actual patch from Bengt. The aim of this patch is to be the counterpart of the export of tags to XMP metadata. At that time, it will be easier for f-spot users to make backups of their collections, work on a subset of this collection and the re-import images with tags. Of course, if you plan to start implementing it, you'll find peoples here to help you, review and comment on your patch. The first thing to do is probably opening a new bug (enhancement request) in bugzilla to keep tracks of discussions and code.
