I've committed a text-entry find bar based on some of the ideas from Thomas's ideas/patch. It is in the F_SPOT_QUERY branch.
It doesn't do the NOT operator yet, but it does have some nice features like tag-name completion, automatic closing parenthesis, and tab to move between terms quickly.
