OK, as promise by Stephane earlier I've got something for you all. (Well at least the Mozilla Thunderbird users) OK, so I've created a script to make the new SendMail feature http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314559 work with thunderbird. Script and instructions attatched to bug.
If you use thunderbird please give this a shot and report if it works for you.
