Thanks, Stephane. Not knowing what intltoolize is, it was hard to
determine that was the cause. However, it doesn't seem to be available
for Ubuntu?!?

I know that I could download and install it from a tarball, but I
don't want to get myself into dependancy hell. Also, F-Spot had built
earlier on this box, why should this crop up now? Is it something that
was added to 0.3?
