Attachments to e-mail

I am using the latest version of F-Spot (0.4) with Thunderbird and 
running it all on Ubuntu Gutsy. From F-Spot you are supposed to be able 
to send a picture to your e-mail client as an attachment. I can get as 
far as having F-Spot open TB but the picture doesn't get attached. Has 
anyone had this problem and can you tell me how to fix it?
